about

SYSTEM was formed in the mid 90s by Herr A and Herr B. The two electronically inclined gentlemen had known each other since the mid-80's and shared a common love for all things synthetic. They started playing music together under the name Die von Kempelens but never released anything officially under that moniker

<Later as the two gentlemen had developed their own music production technique and the sound progressed, Die von Kempelens seamlessly transformed into SYSTEM and a new era in electronic music was born.

The idea that fuelled SYSTEMs earliest creations and paved way for the unmistakable sound of SYSTEM was to make music with vintage analogue synthesizers and drum machines and to use computers as little as possible. In effect the computers only role was to provide the speech synthesis that replaced the human vocals

Although all sound sources used in SYSTEMs music are still analogue new technology has been incorporated in SYSTEMs creative process. SYSTEMs music has often been described as robotic, cold and rhythmic. Lyrically their songs often revolve around themes pertaining to human-machine interaction, extreme psychological states and the natural sciences.

To date SYSTEM has released three full length albums, three EPs and contributed tracks to a slew of compilation albums. They have also played live a lot both in Sweden and abroad and received great reviews, because of the strong emphasis on graphic complements to the music.

Now SYSTEMs fourth full length album Circle of Infinite Radius is about to be released. On this album the speech synthesis has been taken to a point where you no longer can tell if it is a human machine or a robotic human singing and the production and the sounds are cleaner, crisper, tighter and heavier than ever before. The melodies are also more beautiful than ever and as usual SYSTEM provides both slow tracks and tracks fit for any electronic dance floor. SYSTEMs roots are still planted firmly in the analogue 80s but with this release they also secure a spot among the more progressive electronic acts of today.
